The determination of the top 10 cooking schools in the United States is obviously a subjective matter. There is more than one way to decide what high school, and each can hold a variety of different criteria for the various schools and programs to evaluate. Some people may place greater emphasis on the prestige of the school, while others may consider the applications of the chefs who participated in them, and others may be more interested in training programs with moreinnovative techniques and using the best equipment. The following list of 10 best cooking schools, however, was determined by a survey of other chefs and culinary experts at the end of 2009.
These are the top 10 cooking schools in the United States with the rank 2009 Chef2Chef community, school name, location, number of votes and score:
Texas Culinary Academy, Austin TX, 420 votes, Score 4.22
Culinary Institute ofAmerica - Campus Hyde Park, Hyde Park, NY, 446 votes, Score 3.46
French Culinary Institute, New York NY, 124 votes, 2.95 rating
JNA Institute of Culinary Arts, Philadelphia, PA, 129 votes, Score 2.91
Culinary Institute in Scottsdale, AZ Scottsdale, 164 votes, 2.83 rating
Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Rapids MI, 175 votes, Score 2.79
New England Culinary Institute, Montpelier VT, 78 votes, Score 2.77
Orlando Culinary Academy, OrlandoFL, 21 votes, Score 2.76
The Art Institute of Dallas, Dallas TX, 4 votes, Score 2.75
Johnson & Wales University, Providence RI, 120 votes, Score 2.73
Now, if this is a list of the top 10 culinary schools in the world would be a different story in its entirety. Le Cordon Bleu in France would probably top the list, for starters, as well as several other prestigious schools across Europe, Asia and Australia. The CulinarySchools Institute of America is definitely still on the list, but smaller, such as Grand Rapids Community College does not. But if you go to cooking school in the United States, schools and most professionals recommend.
